This is possible in v1.5 - go to Admin > Posting and tick "Custom field for extra information on ask form" the put the field name in. You can also tick "Show the extra information on question pages" to add a label when showing it. I'm not sure that URLs get auto-linked though.

In 1.4 it would be much more complicated so you're best waiting for v1.5 final.
