Unfortunately that's not easily possible with the current Q2A. However, Q2A 1.8 will have the category navigation as a separate widget so that should solve your issue.
In the meantime, it would be technically possible with a custom widget plugin that reads the contents of the $qa_content['navigation']['cat'] variable and outputs the categories how you like.
