Can users "follow" tags or categories so they get emailed for those certain topics?

Is there a way for users to pick certain categories or tags they are interested in and be emailed when questions or answers pop up for those cat or tags?

Currently there is no email functionality for this as far as I know. But there is an RSS feed for every tag so users can follow in that way.
