voting icons are input fields, so they don't support ::before or ::after pseudo-elements

you can use one of these

  • use background image in css(as SnowFlat)
  • or add <i> elements in php with voting buttons(as my Mayro Theme)

Yes @Abhilash you are right, q2a uses sprites images using background and background position.
