Hello,

I have been using 1.7.5 for a while. Today I upgraded my server to PHP 7.1.x and Apache 4 version.

Right after upgrade, when a user tries to "Ask a question", I get the error below error . I read the latest 1.8 beta 2 release notes and said it was tested, so I upgraded to 1.8 Beta 2 as well, but I am still having the same error.

Also, when I try to respond / Answer to question , it gives the error with a pop-up. I checked console and it says 500 Error as well.

Will v 1.7 move out of beta any time soon?

I ask because there's a branch for v 1.8 and last commit for 1.7 was 20 days ago? It's a bit confusing??

Today I updated my Q2A answer site v 1.6.3 to v 1.7.0-beta-1 and I have several problems. (http://www.wikifirst.net/)

1. After I signed as Admin found that Layout, Posting, List, Plugin, Moderate, Hidden tabs are not working.

2. Text editor is not loading

3. Top scoring users page and badges page are not loading

When I try to visit Layout, Posting, List, Plugin, Moderate, Hidden tabs I received following error message

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, cgiadmin@yourhostingaccount.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

but I can visit other tabs under Admin.

Please help me to solve these problems.

Note:- After I contact my hosting provider I received this information

All qa1.7 needs is more hooks! Lack of hooks makes plugin wrting sometimes impossible

I would suggest asking developers what hooks they need to be provided to them for qa1.7 instead of asking users what features they need. Developers can add many features provided hook sare there!

There are many things we cannot do with current architecture examples:

1- hiding the regular registration and keeping only facebook/social login visible (usage: to avoid spam)

2- applying stying to notification messages being displayed to users

you name it...

My point is that now that time and resources are limited lets spend it on more important stuff, Architecture not the look and feel or new features ( because time is limited for the core developers of this qa, Scott and Gidden)

Some suggestions for Q2a 1.7

Hi I want to give some suggestions for Q2A 1.7

I want that there should be post functionality inside Q2A and a blog page for whol community, so there can be a blog that whole community can use for creating post and articles, and there should be comments under it, not answers,

The benifit would be that there wouldn't be a need to use wordpress under q2a which makes things very complicated and you have to buy two seperate themes for these so look goes out of question

Secondly q2a user management is very nice and better than wordpress so I think it wil improve the chance of creating an community , active in creating content and answering,
