Turn forum into read only mode

Hi,

We have a need to set a "read only" mode forum.

Meaning all Questions/Answers/Comments are still available to read, while making it impossible to change any data. Also it should not be possible to register any new users or sign in.

Is there any way of doing this?
So far I considered using the Admin Settings access tab, but I'm not sure it will cover all my needs.

I cant access my admin
and when i click on forget password there is no email come to my email to change the password

Is it possible giving users more control over tags like accessing category ?

I want to give users an oppurtunity to access and control tag/tags like control over category.

I m using tags for classification so thats why I need this.On users profile , there is - add category-specific privileges - so I want use this for tags.

Is it possible ?

Access Question from another site or directory

I used to search and access the questions directly to the database from another sites or folders, but since I updated Q2A from 1.7.1 to 1.7.4, I get the database "too-many-connections" error. Looks like y script is trying to access the database while the Q2A is updating the table and that is causing a conflict. Any ideas how to fix the problem? or any way to search and access the questions from another site?

Access theme variable from plugin?

I have a value set in an advanced theme and would like to access it from a plugin.

Is that basically possible?

I have tried in the theme:

   class qa_html_theme extends qa_html_theme_base {
        var $blockaccess = false;

And in the plugin page:

   var_dump($this->blockaccess);

without success.

There is a ACL plugin or funcionality? I need to put questions in secret access according to tags

I work in Police DEPT , we would like to put same questions under ACL , just for some policemans . There are a way to provide it?

Hi,
My name is Oladosu Abass. I just installed question2answer script on the domain name qwisted.com and the site is up and running fine.
My site hosting provider (ipage.com) installed the script for me because I have low knowledge about installing script.
My main issues are: 1. After the script installation there is no admin access for the script, and no way to install a theme without admin access, so I contacted my hosting provider, there reply is as follows:

We could not find the direct admin access link for your website. So, please contact the script provider and get the admin access login details. After that, get back to us with those details, so that we can try to install the theme. If there is any admin login access to the application, then please ask your script provider to install the theme.

If you have any further question, please update the Support Console.

I was confused about this and I do not know what to do.
I need admin access of the script to be able to edit site and install a new theme.

can't do anything in the front-end but back-end is open.

Advanced Theme: How to set variable in one function and use it in another?

I am using an advanced theme to override two functions:

1. function main()

2. function q_view($q_view)

In main() I am also checking some user information, like is logged in and more! Then I set a boolean variable in main().

This boolean variable I need to access now from within q_view(), without doing all the queries again that I did in main().

How would you do that?

Big problem with deploy a web application in subdomain.

I have deployed an instance of Q2A on my host (root of my host) now i want to install a web analytic php web application in a folder called "stat" (in the root of my host as a sub domain) but Q2A does not allow ro access "stat" folder how can i config ".htaccess" file to allow map stat.mydomain.com to "stat" folder.

I wish i can describe my problem presicely. please help me as soon as possible.
