How to clone a plugin with changes in code?

How to have a plugin together with a copy of the same plugin with a changed code? My purpose is to show two widgets of both versions. ie: I changed q2apro's most active users of the current month to most answered users of the previous month. How can I keep this two versions together? I want that two widgets to be added. How can I make a copy of this plugin? What all variables should I rename? How to show comment counts in activity list like answer counts?

I know there is an old plugin to show comment counts inside that answer count square box. But it is not working well on mobiles. I am using the snow flat theme. Any way to clone that answer count box and make it comment counts?

I am sure that most of the users do not use the activities page. I am one of them. I do not use the "my updates" page either, btw.

Why? you might ask, because the necessary information is not easy to find there.

I am still using the history plugin of NoahY, which is 2-3 years old now, in my public forums. Despite the fact that q2a 1.6.x has the "recent activities" built in.

Just compare!:

History plugin (essential and necessary information only):

My suggestion, change the activities page. Reduce the unnecessary information, then users will be able to use it finally.

You should start by removing the q-item-stats (view count, answer count), the tags, and the category.

I did some CSSing, this is the result:

2. The points are still missing. They are so important! For this, the core should output them in the end of each line.
3. The activity "commented, answered, ..." should stand before the title of the question.

It is important WHEN+WHAT the user did, then follows WHERE.

Hi, I'm trying to make a widget only visible for admins.

The widget which I want to do that is the qa_activity_count

the file location is: qa-include --> qa-widget-activity-count.php

I tried to add this bit of code that I saw in the qa-page-admin-stats.php file but it doesn't work

Build-in Recent Activity vs. History Plugin

With v1.6.2 we have the recent activity tab for each user.

However, when I compare the event data from the built-in core and the history plugin I see that the history plugin gives much more details, it records all events.

What I see in activity list provided by core:

• "edited 1 day ago"

What I see with the history plugin:

• posted a question

• edited a question

• question commented on

• voted up a question

My question now: Is there any way to get all those details in the core activity list? And it seems that the "edited" notice overwrote the "asked" notice. Is the correct?

I had such a situation. Page Activity and Questions page not been updated. There was static questions and poslendie action presents 29.08.2013 16-00. The site has been a lot of other questions and answers and other activities. But the page and Activity and Questions page not updated content in order. On top was content with the date 29.08.2013. And I put the last action from 29.08.2013 until that time. And all was well. During this time there was a lot of content on the site, I closed them. It is a pity that the content polzovateley site left I closed them. And I do not want that to happen again, I think the problem is the kernel version 1.6.2.

I changed through the base date danyh question, answer and comment from 29.08.2013. But still it will remain.

I covered a lot of questions and answers with the date 29.08.2013 that on the page above. I left on product pictures to show you one.

You can do a plugin if you like, or just open phpmysql and do the following mysql operation:

SELECT handle,written
FROM `qa_users`
WHERE written > NOW() - INTERVAL 12 HOUR
ORDER BY written DESC

which gives you an ordered list of all users that have written something in your forum within the last 12 hours.

Suggestion:

By adding comments events to the main page, I got rid of the activity page. Let's say I merged both.

The only difference now, as activity page is gone, is that users cannot see "edit" and "retagged" events any more. And I think they do not care about.

However, big advantage:
→ Main page shows questions on top that got request as comments.
→ This helps askers that need another answer to bring their question on top again.

Btw, do members really check the /activity/ page? I am too lazy. Check your server stats :)
