I am trying to hide vote buttons on all of the list pages (all questions, recent question, unanswered...). I want the vote buttons to be displayed only on the single question page. I also want the net votes to be displayed on all of the pages. I got that part covered. I am trying to achieve something similar to that on Stack Overflow - vote buttons only on single question pages, but the vote count on question list pages.

i want to reposition only the edit and hide buttons on question view page. How can i override them as their code isn't in qa-theme-base.php file ? I know that the code is in the question-view.php file:

Add comment button disappears - DIV tag id wrongly rendered.

Earlied i had issues with buttons disappearing upon submitting content 2nd time. I managed to find a quick temporary fix for this by adding an extra page reload so that the issue doesnt come to users notice.

However, there is still another issue with buttons where sometimes when we click "comment" button, the toggle doesnt occur but the whole page refreshes, just to remove all the comment buttons in addition to the comment form field thats suppose to be showing up.

A quick look into the code showed me this

qa-theme-base.php-

There are two scenarios heppening :

1. sometimes the server populates the ID field in the above line with for eg: 'c178' , 'c323' etc..In these cases the toggle appears to be working fine ; where the javascript shows and hides the comment form accordingly.

2. sometimes the server populated the ID field with eg: 'c0' ,'c1' etc... In these cases the toggle isnt working as it is looking for div with same id like c178, c323 etc.. and unable to find, it appears to be hiding all the comment buttons on the assumption that the comment form is shown. In reality all everything goes hidden leaving with no comment buttons, comment form or anything.

any quick fixes you guys can think of ?

Does anyone know in where exactly in php is this line of code generated other than above. and in which cases will it generate 'c0' 'c1' instead of the correct ids like 'c178' 'c179' etc..

Open login button problem on smaller/mobile devices!

I am using Open login plugin.

I have checked use zocial buttons.

Mobile theme is SnowFlat.

When a user goes to the register page in a mobile device the buttons at the button look like this.

Since new theme is applied to Q2A so I think it is time to report some issues related to this theme in Q2A QA only.

I have also reported this issue in Github Q2A repo but since Scott would busy with roadmap so maybe someone from here can sought out the problem and create a pull request.

With small image this problem occurs.

Buttons totally miss align. And with increasing features more buttons are coming and without text it is even more difficult for our users. They press button which should be and that creates another headache specially with flag and stuff. Basically so many buttons are making the space crowded.

So wouldn't it be better if a dropdown button style is adopted which is in most websites nowadays. This would hide the less needed buttons and the space would be well used.

These are two examples how it could be made better.

What do you think about this.

Strange problem with buttons when changing public function a_item_content($a_item)

So i edited a_item_content function because i had to include voting buttons right next to content for styling issues ($this->voting($a_item);) so my code looks like this:

Now voting buttons are inside a_item_content but somehow "ask related question", "edit" and "flag" buttons are not active when they are pressed. How they can be related to a_item_content function ?

Goal: Only experts, moderators and admins shall be able to close questions

My attempt in qa-theme.php without checking the privileg, just trying to remove the close button:

Markdown editor problem in IE6

The button bar of the markdown editor doesn't show up in MSIE6. It's just a blank button bar.

Anyone knows a fix to this?

Does it make sense that 'Delete hidden questions' button doesn't work, when its answers and comments do not hide?

I found that after I hidden a question, I was not able to clean up all hidden question by the button. Since I didn't hide its answers and comments. Then I manually hided all answers and comments. It worked.

I am not sure if it is designed on purpose, or it is a bug.

Today I installed Simple Ads Manager Plugin and Custom 404 Page Plugin. After those installations I lost voting buttons and other information of my all questions. I have no idea this happened because of these plugins. Please help me to reshow voting buttons and other question info.

Make "Delete" Post procedure clear to all users - using the tooltip

Quite often I have seen questions here on q2a, such as where is delete? help. Users just do not find the delete button, because it is not showing up. Just after pressing "Hide" it will appear - but not always* either.

Improving usability: To make it clear to users I would just change the tooltip for the Hide button from "Hide" to "Hide - then you can also delete".

PS: *The delete button only appears if there are no dependencies. In other words, if there are comments that have the post as parent, the post cannot be deleted. Maybe this should be pointed out with a notice as well.

Adding voting/selection to the qa-q-view-buttons?

Can someone please, please write a guide or show me some code on how to add the voting and best selection as extra buttons to the qa-q-view-buttons, qa-a-item-buttons as I have been plugging away with this for days and have gone through way too many cigarettes and coffees!!! I just can't seem to get it working, I'm using a modified version of the default theme. Willing to pay if someone can help, although I don't have a great deal of money :)

EDIT: have tried hacking this together but obviously not working, due to most of the voting code being in qa-app-format.php and I have no idea how to include it in qa-theme.php

How to add a custom button after the default buttons flag, answer, comment?

I got a new design that needs some tweaks. One is to add a custom button (just holding a link) to the default button list of each question (note: in Snow theme here in this forum, they don't look like buttons but as links).

$this->q_view_buttons($q_view);

is responsible for the output, it uses $this->form($q_view['form']); as data.

How can I add a link (button) inside this array?

Bug in comment voting - lines don't wrap when links are large

Then the comment doesn't display right and the buttons (edit - flag etcetera) are shifted to the right so they hide behind the sidebar.

When I remove the comment voting plugin the issue disappears. It also disappears when I solely disable the 'qa-comment-voting-layer.php' plugin.

EDIT : It is caused by Noah's code when overriding function c_item_main($c_item)
