How can I convert the (+) to (-) in URL?

Usually Q2A default url structure looks like: www.example.com/1234/there+is+a+example.

But I want convert 'there+is+a+example' to 'there-is-a-example'.

How can I do that?

Quite interesting thing a user requested. As soon as you click on EDIT (your answer) and then the checkbox "convert my answer to a comment", the last answer post (if answers exist) is selected in the dropdown.

My user (and I agree with her) said it would be better to default-select the question in the dropdown, so the answer given becomes a comment to the question (instead of any other answer given).

Trying to hack the according question-post.php I could not find a way of how to change the "selected" option. It should be somewhere in $commentonoptions.

Anyone?

PS: Probably would make sense to change that in core.

I have my Q2A website in Georgian language. So URLs look horrible when linked on other sites. RSS feed also becomes useless. Is there any plugin or code snippet to convert non roman letters into roman in URLs?

Cant convert to comments after 1.6.3 update

I am not longer able to convert answers to comments, here is what happens to me.

I hit convert to comment, the edit thing comes up. I can only convert it to commet for the main question and not to other answers as I was able before.

How can I fix this ?

I guess, it would be helpful for many users to have the option (similar to the answer edit), to convert a comment into an answer.

If you want this feature, please vote for this post so that gidgreen (the main q2a developer) will notice.

NOTE: I know that it could be problematic to decide if the following comments belong to the answer or to the other comments above. My suggestion: Instead of moving the comment to the answer, copy the comment to a new answer. The other comment can maintain or can be deleted manually then.

I want to convert URL string in email contents sent by Q2A into HTML. It is not converted even if I carry out sample code below. $urltext and $urlhtml are same... Please teach me condition converted in the regular expression of qa_html_convert_urls() function.

It is just a tip, as this feature is not yet built in (v1.6.2).

You have a comment that is actually the answer and you want to convert comment -> answer.

1. you open phpmysqladmin

2. you open qa_posts and you search for the postid of the comment (see the anchor! #12345 of the commented link)

3. change type from "C" to "A"

4. /admin/stats and click "Recount Posts" to clean up.

done.

I am continuing the development of "qa-wysiwyg-upload.php" to resize images if they are too big in their dimensions.

What I have so far is working for JPG/JPEG and might help you already:

Resize uploaded images (PHP/serverside)?

Is there any way I can resize uploaded images to a smaller size?

E.g. somebody uploads an image of 1800 x 1800, and I would like to reduce the size to 800x800 max.

Would be saving big amounts of database storage. Esp. if there is no encoding of the images → can we convert them actually for better encoding?

Here is an example of a PNG of my users (it has 418 KB°!)

Using the image editor XNView and saving it again I have a PNG of only 16 KB°!

I just realized that some of my users start uploading BMP files that are quite big (up to 1 MB).

Is there any option to convert uploaded BMP images to PNG?

Absolutely weird, I download the file that was uploaded by one of my users. Now I try to upload it here and in my forum as well. Both give me the error notice:

The image could not be read. Please upload one of: GIF, JPG, PNG

So how was my user able to upload the image?

I checked qa_blobs table and see that the uploaded images are in file format PNG. However, q2a displays them as BMP? Is this a bug?
