I have a custom field for extra information on the register page, but in most cases I get "Unable To Solve" or "Not Recognized" as values. I cannot reproduce it by making test registrations.

I can't find solution anywhere.

I know it was asked before but I could not get the right answer.

I like to add an additional textfield to answer form which will be recorded to data base together with content field.

I manage to add an addtitonal field by playing "function qa_page_q_add_a_form" function in question-view.php

I duplicated the following code as content_2

ORIGINAL CODE

It has added an additional field but It is not recording to database and even not checking char lenght etc.

Do you have any idea how to add an additional text field which will be recorded to db?

I Tried to use custom field for extra information in ask form but

When posting a question users have to fill-out a custom field. I would like this information to also appear in the subject of the e-mail notficaiton the administrators get. Is there a simple way to do that?

I have been working lately on making a custom filed (" User Location") mandatory to fill up when registring with the endless and kind help of user Sama55 ( That i thank very very much for his great support).

Sama55 suggestion was

1) to create a plugin with function call : qa_register_plugin_module('filter', 'qa-profile-checker.php', 'qa_profile_checker', 'Profile Checker'); in qa-plugin.php.

2) then to use the following code under qa-profile-checker.php file.

The solution worked great no problem until i switched from localhost ( windows) to live server (linux), a strange error message pop up when hitting sign up button:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'QA_INCLUDE_DIR' (T_STRING) in /home/picassau/public_html/qa-plugin/q2a-location-required/qa-profile-checker.php on line 1

How comes that in local it runs correctly but on server it does't not ? !!! Some one can help figuring out that mystery.

Always wondered why we show custom user profile fields (like location, about me, etc.) if there is no value.

To hide these empty fields, you have to:

1. open qa-page-user.php

2. find line:
$qa_content['form_profile']['fields'][$userfield['title']]=array(
...
);

3. add a new line before: if($valuehtml!='' || qa_get_state()=='edit') {

4. add a new line at the end of the $qa_content block: } // closing if

i also need to rearrange the order of these new fields . can i do this in a plugin ? according to qa's doc, i find the 'process' module may help(it has the init_page method,which i want to use to init qa_content[forms][fields]).but there is no example of the 'process' module.

any help will be greatly appreciated.
