I have Q2A sitting here: http://example.com/questions/ for some reason it thinks it's at this http://example.com/ how can i fix this?

Basically, I have a /questions subdirectory where Q2A sits, but anytime it generates a url (e.g. for an admin to approve a user, or for a user to validate their email) Q2A thinks it's sitting in the main root folder, not the subdirectory. I can get the auto generated links to work by manually adding /questions/ to the link, but this is confusing for users trying to validate their emails.

Just a tiny idea. Instead of listing all sites sorted by number of questions: http://www.question2answer.org/sites.php

I recommend to also check the number of answers.

You find some sites in the directory that are just spammy. Thousands of questions but no answers. Obviously the questions got generated by bots.

Hello i am getting this error whin i enabled my blob form config file and when i click to migrate from database to disk it stats and not stops like that 100 of 7 150 of 7 ........ 800 of 7 and so on...

The directory 1 defined as QA_BLOBS_DIRECTORY is not writable by the web server.

I am using Q2A to handle reports by concerned individuals regarding varying social issues. The aim is to bring issues like criminal activity, corruption and disdain to the fore in order to hold the offending entity (individual or corporate) accountable for their actions and achieve redress and/or corrections.

Because the reports to be submitted will vary depending on what the report is about i.e. a visitor to the site can report stolen goods, as well as report poor service and/or poor quality products etc so in actual practise the <form>s have different fields to collect different data for information.

Would it be possible to install Q2A into subdomains like:

stolengoods.speakoutzimbabwe.org (Q2A to report about stolen goods with the specialised fields)
poorservice.speakoutzimbabwe.org (Q2A to report about poor service with the specialised fields) etc..

but in such a way that visiting the main site speakoutzimbabwe.org will correlate all the reports submitted in the subdomains with all the stats and links and so on.. on the home page of the "mother" site.

When i check mysite.com/qa-include/ or mysite.com/qa-plugin/ i see a list of all files!

I've checked some other Q2A sites for this and some of them shows the list of files too!

Is it safe to protect these directories and if yes, how to do that?

I've looked at http://www.question2answer.org/wordpress.php but am still a bit confused.

I've a WPMU install. So, I've main site at domain.com and multi-sites inder domain.com/dir1 domain.com/dir2 etc.

Now, I want to create a subdomain and instal Q2A in a directory underneath it..i.e, I want to be able to access Q2A @ http://sub.domain.com/ask ... What should be the settings for such an install? Thank you.

I have integrated the Q2A in my site design, I keep the main-menu and all other grafics around, this takes that in my qa-theme I reffer to css and images...

this worked just fine on my xampp test setup, I did not have the option to have the SEO friendly url's, now its up on the server, and I'd like to have the SEO friendly url's but I'd need to 'grab' the filepath on the fly and correct that for my css and image locations...

This really isn't a question about question2answer, it is actually a question about question2answer.org. I submitted our site a couple of months ago to the crawler, and we hit 1000 question last week. So how long should I expect it to take before we show up in the directory. If after two more weeks we don't show up, should I assume you rejected our site? Or do I need to resubmit because they drop off the crawler queue after a while if they don't have over 1000 questions? It would be cool if you had a page where we can pass in a domain, and then you tell us how many pages your crawler believes we have and also status whether the site has been rejected and if so why.

I think Gideon will know where I'm coming from when I say that I think content is far more important than the platform itself; Question2Answer is a really great platform, and only getting greater, afaics. But wouldn't it be great if we were to one-up SE by having an open directory sorted by categories where people could actually find Q2A sites on various topics? The current directory seems more geared towards showcasing the software itself, which is great, but if it became a tool like Area51 where visitors could actually find content, wouldn't that be even greater?

This could potentially lead to a SSO for all sites in the directory, and an accumulated reputation, similar to Area51, network profile, etc. It might eventually lead to something similar to Area51 itself, where inclusion into the directory became subject to peer review, fulfillment of usage criteria, etc.

It's a lot of work, and I guess a fair amount of it would have to fall on Gideon's shoulders; maybe there is some way to delegate the work? Maybe the community could set up a separate site, or Gideon could give over a subdomain to the community to work on the directory?

Just thoughts, what do others think?

I don't think that gameshampoo.com is full of real people posting, why this site is first in directory considering that in directory is written: "spammy sites excluded"

I was just looking at the directory and some of the sites have a huge number of questions. But looking at the sites, most of the questions seem to be unanswered. Game Shampoo for example have over 70,000 "questions" but there are 2,907 pages of unanswered questions! That's at least 58,000 questions without an answer.

Whereas Frageee has 20,000 questions but only 120 unanswered questions. Maybe the sites could be ordered by the total number of answered questions instead? You can still show the total number of questions.
