Hi Q2A Community,

Please make a question filter plugin.

Today, I'm Posting a Question on My Website. After Posting That Question, I See, That Same Question is Already Asked 2 Times ( & Same Url).

While, I Enabled Similar Question Suggestion on My Website, But, It Don't Show.

When I Search From Search Box With Question Main Keyword, Than I Find Duplicate Question.

And Again I Tried To Ask Same Question But Still Not Showing That Question.

On My Website More Than 4000 Question Have Been Written.

I'm Very Frustrated. Please Help Me.

And Sorry For My Terrible English. Please Try to Understand My Word.

Hello

I used a plugin ("User Management") and I accidentally removed some threads. Considering I can still find the content, how can I recreate the urls?

I mean, suppose the original url was:

https://myforum/411/the-meaning-of-life

I know how to recreate the part "the-meaning-of-life", but how do I recreate the part "411"?

I hide all duplicate questions:

But i can't delete it, because they have answers...

What is the point of having this structure?

site.com/category-name and site.com/questions/category-name are obviously duplicate pages. The only difference is that /questions/category-name has pager at the bottom.

I don't understand why developers of Q2A made that. Why didn't they just put category questions on ONE single page, instead of separating them?

Anyway, we have what we have.

As a quick solution I blocked /questions urls from indexing in robots.txt.

Is there a way to put pager at the bottom of site.com/category-name and completely remove useless questions/category-name pages?

duplicate title tags due to non-ascii characters

Google webmastertools complains that many of my Q2A pages have duplicate title tags. What happens really is that some of my questions (therefore page titles) have Greek (non ascii) characters and they are omited in the url.

Somehow google thinks there are two pages, one with the greek chars and one without them. In reallity there is only one page, the one without the greek chars.

It seems that Q2A makes a 302 redirection from this page:

to this page:

If it was a 301 redirect, everybody (google) would be happy. I could track all the problematic urls and make the redirects in htaccess. OR somebody can tell me how to change the core code and make the change there?

We are aware that Q2A has thin content because of itself being a question and answer website. We are unable to escape from this problem. Who will answer explaining in detail or who is going to ask by writing long description. So Please answer if any member has a greater knowledge in this.

Google recognizes different pages on Category and Tag pages as duplicate. here is an example:

Duplicate question pages on Google Search Console

Duplicate tag pages on Google Search Console

Is there a way so that google would not index these pages as duplicate?

Hi,

There is a website (http://beatpath.info/) that duplciates all of the contents of my Q2A website (ask.bidbarg.com).
The attacker's website's IP is the same as my website, so it should be on my host, howver the domain name is different.

Google webmaster showed this attacker website as a website with the most referall link to my website and that's how I found it.

Is there any solution I can remove this website from accessing my site?

Sometimes my users close old questions instead of the newer, duplicate version.

It would be nice to display the date in the closed message box that appears below the question body.

Or just don't allow old questions to be closed for newer questions?! - Too strict?

Is there something wrong with my install?

I seem to be able to create multiple accounts with identical username and email and password.

Of course, I cant log into them since the login scripting returns a match count >1 and fails "user_not_found".

There doesnt seem to be any unique key on (for example) email address stopping this, and I can;t find any procedure checking for an existing account with same credentials...

Seems strange to me, hence I wonder if it is my install thats incomplete/failing...
