so, q2a need also work on this. also i want to create vlogging site. ihave good name good idea. but no oppurtunity from q2a to upload any video by default.

ı'm using Feature Plugin that helps me to pin a post to main page of website.But I need for tags it.Can we develop it for each tag.Because I am using tags for categorizations.And sometimes I need to pin some post on top of tag page.

I think the answer is no because Q2A system does not even have a true category. When we browse a category, we can see only some first questions in that category, the pagination is something like q2asite.com/questions/category-name.

I would like sort questions both by category and tag at the same time, like this q2asite.com/category-name?tag= abcdefg

Hi,

I'm fan of this open-source (Q2A). I've been using the system for many years, even since the development of the first versions of the Gidgreen site. There were new versions every month when there was Gidgreen.

Later Scott was responsible for developing the project. Then I have recognized that the development of the system has slowed down. Pupi1985, Q2APro, Sama55, Jatin.Soni also made a great contribution to the development of the site. Of course, I know that it will take a lot of time, but many sites are working based on Q2A. I think the owners of these sites are not against the development of the system Q2A. Therefore, it would be a good idea to organise the donation among users of the system for the development.

For example, I could donate $100-150 every two months. What do you think about raising funds in this way for system development?

Does this Q & A software have the same the same specific function as Yahoo Answers? Users must have a certain amount of points from contributing by answering questions in order for them to Ask Questions. Users are not allowed to ask question until they have reached a certain amount of points. 5 points are deducted each time a user answers a questions.

Shouldn't the "Favorite System" in Q2A be changed to "Follow System"?

I am using Q2A for over a year now, but this favorite system has neither attracted me nor my website users. So I asked some of my friends and users what about if this favorite system is changed to Follow system.

Their replies were much positive about following things is more sensible than favoriting things. Even those who use social media a lot (almost everyone does that) are very much familiar with Follow functionality. If Q2A favorite system can be changed to Follow system then this feature can be used much more and people can easily relate the follow feature to social media.

I decided not to change this plugin until version 2.0.0, But some important bugs and changes forced me to do that.

Now, version 1.4.0 of my brach of Scott's edit history plugin is available here on Github

Changes:

Removed view permission from admin page
Add view permission to admin/permissions page (using some Noah's codes). It is much more powerful than previous methos.
Fixed plugin not to store silent edits

Scott is going to enhance and improve his plugin too. here on Github you can see main branch

My plans for version 2.0.0:

Let user to edit post quite after another edit, but store only one record in edit_history table
Load tables from database in admin page (let admin selects external users table from dropdown list)
Load columns for external users table (let admin selects key and handel columns for external users table from dropdown list)
Add reason to edit pst page
If revisions page called with no post id load recent edits.
Link from revisions to question page for edited answers
Specify type of post in revisions page
Design some default themes and let admin choose his/her favorite theme from list in admin page (for revisions page)
Let admin revert post to previous version (from edits list)

How to auto-save the content of an answer to prevent data loss?

At the moment, the plugin that pops a warning to confirm exiting the page if anything was typed is not working with the plugin WYSIWYG. So anyone who's writing an answer larger than a paragraph would benefit of having an auto-save feature in case they want to resume writing later or if anything happens to the page before he can send it.

Can it be done with the current resources while still enjoying the benefits of WYSIWYG? An auto-save feature to anyone who's started writing anything, especially answers?

Languages are not the same in plural forms

When I was a translator of Ubuntu Arabic Team

We deal with plural forms in a way that is suitable to each language:

In Arabic (may others too) it is not just addin an "s" to if the number is more than 1.

We have singular represents 1 element.

We have (may i can call it) daul represents 2 elements. (but it is not like the plural form just adding s)

We have more than 3 which represents plural.

Here is a rule for Ubuntu to translate plural forms and this rule only for Arabic (as I recall):

We call it (GNU Plural Header):

nplurals=6; plural=n==0 ? 0 : n==1 ? 1 : n==2 ? 2 : n%100>=3 && n%100<=10 ? 3 : n%100>=11 ? 4 : 5;

I wish we have something like that in Q2A.

How to insert a question directly into database?

What I want,

I have the featured question plugin which posts a pinned question by ID.

I want to make a cron job, to insert the question to the database and pin it as featured question.

I already solved the cron job for featured question setting, but I dunno how to add a question in the database for user "test". The user test is already created.

Feature Request:: Moderate Questions when the member edits the questions or comments

As We could enable the moderation for new questions and comments, but the same is not given for when they edit the questions or answers, this can lead to spamming on many sites, initially they can put nice contents and later if they edit it and admin wont come to know the same.

So enable of moderating editing questions or comments or answers required. please look into it.

General question: Is somebody really using the "favorite" feature?
