New Featured Questions System

I’ve added a new feature that allows users to feature their questions so they appear in a carousel on the activity page.

How does it work?
Users can feature one of their questions using their points. Once featured, the question will appear in a widget, making it visible to everyone.

Main Features

Feature questions with points: Featuring a question costs 500 points.
24-hour duration: A featured question remains visible for 24 hours. This duration can be modified in the plugin settings.
One featured question per user: Each user can have only one featured question at a time.
Manual removal: Users can manually remove their featured question before the time runs out (points are non-refundable).
Automatic carousel: Featured questions are displayed in a rotating carousel that slides automatically every few seconds.
Pop-up window: All featured questions can also be viewed in a pop-up window by clicking the "View All" button.

Visible Information
Each entry in the carousel displays:

Question title
"Featured" badge
User avatar and name
Remaining time for the featured post

This feature is designed to help questions and posts get more visibility and engagement.

Hi, anyone knows how to pin certain posts by I'd on specific category or tag page . Obviously post should belong to that category.

I know about this plugin :- https://github.com/NoahY/q2a-featured/ but it only pin or add feature Post on homepage, not on specific category page.

Featured Question Lists

The Featured Plugin by Noah allows to make questions featured and let them come on top of question lists. This plugin adds a "Featured" tab for question lists and shows all the featured questions. Any question can be featured/unfeatured by clicking on a button. Also, featured questions can be listed "category-wise".

I'm experiencing some problems configuring the 'Featured Questions' plugin on my q2a page. How do I uninstall and then reinstall this plugin to my q2a site?

The 'Custom css' and the 'Featured question ids' fields are empty at present.

How to select featured questions in cleanstrap theme?

In the documentation of the theme it doesn't mention about how to select the featured question, and i tried to figure out by myself but there is no button or something like that to select it.

edit: I figured out how to select it (because of my website language) but then, when I select it, it doesn't appear where I put the CS Featured Questions widget.

I am trying to use the featured questions plugin: https://github.com/NoahY/q2a-featured

I realized that it repeats the featured questions in every question page. Is it possible to change the code in order to include the featured questions only in the first question page? It seems that it is happening here: https://github.com/NoahY/q2a-featured/blob/master/qa-featured-layer.php#L31

However, it is not clear why this is really happening.

How do i make the front page show only 10 new questions and other old questions inside? becuse there are many questions on the front page of which might make the page to slow in opening the site. If possible i would even only show the featured questions.

Plans on adding achievements?

[Update]: I found the Badges add-on, but I'm still not very fond of plugins since I never know when thet are suddenly going to be out-dated.

Are there any plans on creating an achievements function for this Q&A script? I just feel that there's not really any incentives at all for people to actually join a Q&A website instead of a forum for example.

Since a Q&A websites tend to lack the "community" a forum has it can be hard to get people to stay if all they do is post questions and answer others. They need to feel that they've achieved something and gotten recognition for it.

I don't know how you guys feel about this, but after over 5 years in the Internet marketing business I've found out that people rarely do something if there's not something to gain from it. And most of the times gaining knowledge from participating at a website is not enough. :P

An example of achievements would be to look at http://stackoverflow.com/badges which had managed to create a pretty great system for it.

P.S: Another suggestion would also be to have a "featured questions" function where people could get extra points/achievements for giving the best answer. The persmission to make a questions featured could be added in the "permissions" tab in the Admin panel for example. This is great if the question is very important and needs an answer fast.

P.P.S: I'm NOT saying "Be more like that site", I'm just trying to bring in ideas that has been proven to work well. :)

I like the idea of people contributing answers but was wondering if there is a way to keep an answer at the top?
