How posted tags are filtered in q2a core? Cannot find the code in core that removes special characters.

I am trying to understand (find in the code) how q2a filters the tags and remove special characters.

When posting e.g. "graph! dogs# test? test2` " it results in a cleaned tagstring:

graph dogs# test test2

But I cannot find the function in the code doing it.

I found only:
- qa_post_tags_to_tagstring($tags)
- qa_tags_to_tagstring()

But these functions are only splitting the tagstring.

I guess the core filters out those characters. Bug?

Update: I realized that it also happens with the CMS Modx...

I have been trying to filter out questions from Q2A site. i.e., suppose a user select a tag 'abc' as filter none of those questions will be shown to him. By overriding the basic select spec function this is working well. But the only issue is "pagination". The page counts and listings are as if no filtering is applied- so in many pages of categories no question comes as they gets filtered out. Does anyone know how/where this can be adjusted? I tried looking at the questions page but cannot make out :(

Is it possible to show "hot questions / with most votes / with most views, etc" but only for a specific Tag or Category ?

For example, currently if we click for on "most views", it sorts all the existing questions according to the number of views; but we cannot see most viewed questions for a specific Tag or category.

StackOverflow and most other Q&A sites allows this feature. It would be very much appreciated if we can have it on Q2A.

Is there a way that I can exclude my IP address from being detected as a viewer of questions?

Mysql filter query based on favorited tags - problematic issue

I'm looking at updating function qa_db_qs_selectspec so that questions/answers on lists can be displayed that reflect or are filtered according to the user's favorite tags.

The problem I'm having is how do I use the query in the function to test if any given post has any of the tags favourited by the user? The tags appear comma separated in the qa_posts table, which makes it difficult to do a comparison in the mysql...

I've played around with the following with no joy so far:

I would like to exclude questions based on the tags favorited by the user. I've updated the q_list($q_list) function as follows to delete questions that I don't need:

It sees to work to a degree where questions are now filtered - however pagination has stopped working properly as it sees to keep count of all questions including those excluded.

The number of questions that come through become very variable on pages as I scroll down (on both infinite ajax or page numbers depending on whichever I look at) - 2 on some pages, 4 on other pages etc

Can anyone help me to figure out how to fix this?

Two functions in qa-filter-basic.php were deleted in Q2A V1.7-beta. Users who are using these functions will lost compatibility. You need to create the same function in your addon. This is ridiculous.

I'm actually modifiying `q2a-opn-login` plugin for some custom functionality. Like: I'm preventing some user to be logged in. And I putted condition inside qa-open-overrides.php file.

Now I want to redirect these restricted user to home page along with a message. Please help.

There might be several ways to do this:

1. Add a tag filter dropdown to the "unanswered" question list.
Actually this could be also useful for many other pages like "all activities", "category pages", "most votes" etc.

Many times users are only interested in a very special tag and want to filter the lists by this tag.

2. Add a dropdown to the tag pages to filter for certain conditions:
- No answers
- More then x answers
- Answers with more than x votings
- Question or answers newer then one month
- Question or answers newer then one year
....

This filter dropdown could be also added to the normal question or catogery lists.

Which way would be easier to go? Would it be difficult to program a small plugin or extend a plugin like tag-search-pro? Anyone interested in developing such a plugin?

Is it possible, using a layer/plug-in etc, to put a filter on the questions shown in the main page?

For arguments sake, lets say I only wanted to show a list of questions whose category id is even, and apply this to all pages such as the 'all activity' page.

If it is possible, could someone give me some pointers on where to start please. Thanks.

I am inside the filter_answer() function and want to get the url of the question, how can i do that ? here is what i have done that has nothing to do with q2a functions and strongely does not work !!

Help with HTML tags in a filter plugin PLEASE

I am writing a new plugin thats a filter. I have most of it done except that when I modify the content, I want to add some HTML tags. When I take my content string and add the tags, the tags are rendered as text back to the user, they are not evaluated as HTML. How can I make the tags that I add via the filter render as HTML? I have tried adding them both as HTML and BBCode style (like [a] my link [/a]). What do I need to do to make sure that my filter plugin output is rendered out as HTML???
