Upload just files not images of different format

I'm starting to build my Q&A website. It is not supposed to be a classic Q&A but its main purpose is to share files from audio mixing consoles.

So the upload function is crucial to post, and in fact, I have a problem with the CKEditor WYSIWYG which is the default one.

I made some customization of the code here and there but regarding the CKEditor I'm not able to make the changes I need.

Basically, I need a dedicated button to upload different file formats belonging to different console brands.

Can I substitute the CKEditor with another one through a plugin or should I customize it in some way?

Notification emails are not containing Enters inside the questions/answers/comments added in the forum

This is a continuation of question https://www.question2answer.org/qa/65763/how-to-change-text-format-of-the-content-notification-emails ...

1) I have enabled the HTML notification emails as per https://www.question2answer.org/qa/65763/how-to-change-text-format-of-the-content-notification-emails?show=65785#a65785 (observation: i needed to do both changes, meaning also in users-edit.php and in emails.php otherwise the registration was not working properly).

2) I have also replaced the $params['text'] with $params['content'] in the qa-notify-event.php file. The content of this file can be seen here: https://github.com/jfiricel/qa/blob/master/qa-event-notify.php.

3) I have updated my qa-lang-emails.php file content to contain HTML text. Check the content of the file here: https://github.com/jfiricel/qa/blob/master/qa-lang-emails.php.

4) When i'm adding a new question into the forum, written on multiple lines, the notification email that is received is containing the question written on a single line. The same will happen for answers, comments...

Can you please tell me what else i must change or what i'm doing wrong in order to fix this issue?

How to change text format of the content of notification emails?

I'm updating the content of notification emails and i have noticed that if i will add some empty spaces at the beginning of a text line the way the test into the notification email will be changed.
Example:
I have changed the code from qa-lang-emails.php file to be something like(meaning i added 3 empty spaces -> the yellow content below):
'welcome_body' => "Thank you for registering for ^site_title.\n\n^custom^confirmYour login details are as follows:\n\n Username: ^handle\n\n Email: ^email\n\nPlease keep this information safe for future reference.\n\nThank you,\n\n^site_title\n\n^url\n\n Let us know what you think of our services!\n\n Takes about a minute to complete our survey at...",

And then in the notification email the content was something like:

justina,

Thank you for registering for DEV Forum.

As you can see above the yellow lines, the format of that text is different than the other lines of the email.

My actual question is: How can i apply similar changes for the Question/Answer content that will be displayed into the notification email?

Expected result: Content of the email to be like:

justina,

Your question on DEV Forum has been answered by dev_admin:

theoretically it should be possible …let me check and come back to you

Your question was:

Is there a way to change the design of notification emails?

If you like this answer, you may select it as the best:

Thank you,

DEV Forum

Let us know what you think of our services!

My issue: The idea is that the content of a question or the content of an answer is added to the email notification via some "variables" (in the code we have something like: ^open^c_context^close or ^open^c_content^close, etc.). I'm afraid i have no idea (i have no idea about coding in php) how to update the code to add those 3 empty spaces to those "variables". Can you help me please?

The items that fall into the qa-header section (the logo, and these menu items: Questions/Unanswered/Ask a Question/etc.) I would like to appear at the very top in the qa-nav-user section. left-justified. On the right would still appear the user login/logout functionality.
This is for the theme "Esteem". You can see what I mean here: www.bimmernerd.com
Issue: "please login message" and "your answer" have the same CSS id

Just wanted to css format the "please login or register ... " part and found out that it is inside the h2 tag!

The h2 tag is in this case generally used for the "Your answer" headline.

<div class="qa-a-form" id="anew">
 <h2>Your answer</h2>

AND

<div class="qa-a-form" id="anew">
 <h2>Please <a href="../login">login</a> or <a href="../register">register</a> ...

There is no way to CSS format this part, it always effects both.

Is processing of markdown editor correct?

I tried using the mark-down editor of Scott. Post data seems to be displayed by this plugin correctly.

However, I have a big question.

Markdown code is stored in the "content" of qa_posts table directly. Is this process correct? Because, Q2A and other plugins treat content as HTML or plain text.

	Right processing is as follows?

Store: Convert from markdown to HTML

 Output: Just display HTML

Edit: Convert from HTML to markdown

What do you think about this?

How to change format to user defined dictionary

Perhaps someone has a really slick solution to this:

I am trying to use question2answer to create an online dictionary. Rather than state a question, a user would provide a word, and rather then provide question detail, the user would provide a votable definition. I might add the word ("question title" in the quetion2answer format) with a definition (in the question2answer format, this would be more like an answer to a question). Others could provide answers/definitions that get voted above my own. For example, I provide:

zither -- a musical instrument

someone could come along and post --a musical instrument with strings

This better definition could get voted above my own, even though I was the original poster.

I tried toying around with removing the option to describe the question in the question page, but this was a little awkward--the user would have to post the word and then go back into the word to post the definition.

How comes that content is sometimes saved as TEXT and not HTML despite using CKEditor?

When writing a filter plugin to filter line breaks I stumbled over the format of content. See qa_posts, field format. It is either '' or 'html'.

Everywhere on my forum I am using CKEditor, even for comments. However, text is sometimes not saved as 'html' but empty. I can see the pure text in 'content' field. Having no html, content is parsed with nl2br by q2a.

How comes that the content is sometimes saved as TEXT?

Shouldn't it be always HTML as we use CKEditor?

Adapting Title Format Before Posting Question

On my Q2A website I try to keep the format of all the question titles the same to make it more neat : every 3-letter-word starts with a capital, every title starts with a capital, and all the other words don't (eg. "This is a Title" or "I Love How Neat This is" instead of "this is a title" or "i love how neat this is").

Users don't care though, so is there a way to add a script to adapt the title to this particular format before adding a question?
