Bots are programmed to fill out every field they find as quickly as possible. This plugin uses two clever mechanisms to catch them in the act:

The Invisible Honeypot: The plugin injects a hidden form field into the registration page. This field is completely invisible to human users (pushed off-screen using CSS), but bots scanning the HTML will see it and fill it out. If the registration is submitted with this field filled, the plugin instantly knows it's a bot and blocks the registration.
The Time Trap: A real human takes at least a few seconds to type their username, email, and password. A bot does this in milliseconds. The plugin embeds a hidden timestamp when the page loads. If the form is submitted faster than the minimum configured time (e.g., 4 seconds), the registration is rejected.

Installation

Download the latest release of the plugin as a ZIP file
Go to your WordPress admin dashboard

The main idea is to allow users to easily add content to the site without complications, and to increase interactive content to attract more users.

While reading answers for a particular question, at some point in time as we scroll down trough the answers, the Original Post (question) will be out of visibility on the page.

So we need to go back and forth, scrolling up and down to analyze the content in the question while reading the answers or creating an answer.

So I created a free plugin to view the question in PIP mode, once the question is out of visibility.

New plugin: disable points for accepted self-answers

Q2A can award points for accepting answers, but it does so indiscriminately, even if the accepted answer is from the user posting the question. For my own Q2A forum I wanted the person accepting an answer to be awarded points only if they accepted someone else's answer, so that users wouldn't game the system by posting lots of trivial questions and accepting their own answers (not that I'd have to worry about people doing that ATM, but anyway).

Initially I simply patched the respective query in qa-include/db/points.php, but that is suboptimal as the change doesn't survive software updates. So I wrote a plugin for this as finger practice while I'm learning PHP:

The plugin overrides the function qa_db_points_calculations(). If there is a better way of doing this: feel free to suggest.

Update:

The plugin now also enforces the default behavior of not awarding "having your answer selected as the best" points for accepting self-answers.

Right now I am struggling with mobile. SnowFlat theme has off-canvas sidebar, and it's same one that is used for desktop with additional class and styles. So, I had to make dirty fix for it in CSS. Please send suggestion how to improve that part. Basically, script sholud be turned off for screens smaller rhat 979px, and it should works on resizing window (and not to impact performance).

this is my small contribution to this community. I made my first Q2A plugin that will do one simple job: clear FB share cache after new question is posted.

Description:

Just a simple plugin that will clear FB share cache automatically after new question is posted. By default you must clear FB share cache manualy here after new qustions is posted. If you don't do that and someone want to share question immediately, it will not pull right meta content. So, this plugin will prevent that situation by sending POST request to Facebook graph to scrape data.

I am not experienced PHP developer, I am front-end designer! So, my code is probably very bad, but it's working. Feel free to make it better, send suggestions :)

Question2Answer plugin for online translation of Question2Answer language files

This makes proces of making translations for Question2Answer easier. Insted of manually copying and editing language files, you get option to edit translation phrases on line, through Translation page within Administration section of Question2Answer site.

Works with Question2Answer version 1.8.0. Not tested with earlier versions.

HOW TO USE

First, install this plugin by copying it to qa-plugin directory and enable it using Question2Answer site admin. New menu item named Translator wil show up in Admin submenu.

Now, crate new language manually, by creating new directory in qa-language, and setting metadata.json file. You do not have to copy any of the original (english) language files. Other than specified json file, nothing else is needed.

Open Translator. It will show selection of languages (newly created language would be in the list) and selection of language files.

Choose new language and any of language files. Then go to the bottom of the page anc click Load. It wil load source language file in English and offer edit fileds for you to write in translated phrases.

After you do soem translation go to the bottom of the page and click Save. It will create custom languiage file for new language containing translated phrases.

And thatis all, you may repeat the process for any installed language and any language file.

You can now have comfort of looking site in the language you are editing in one window and editing translation files in other window and see changes in real time.

ISSUES

This is my very first plugin for Question2Answer. Documentation for Questin2Answer plugin developers is very short and Spartanic so I had to dig a lot to get to the basics. That means, it may be that some things I did in wrong way. But do not worry, it works. Any suggestion to imporove plugin code is welcomme.

I could not find a way to add Load button just below selection of language and language file. Thus, user has to go to the bottom to click that button. Any info how can I add Load button on the top of the form is welcomme.

Do not change selected language and selected language file and then click Save. If you do that you will end up saving translation to the wrong place. Will be fixed.

I noticed that, if qa-lang-admin.php source file is loaded in Translator, it messes up displaying of Admin submeny. I have no clue why that happens. I load that file into local variable within plugin class method so it should not affect anything, but it does. You know the drill: any suggestion is welcome.

I've checked the repos of a lot of plugins on http://docs.question2answer.org/addons/ and I see the latest activity of most of them was a lot of time ago (4 years).

Does it means that most of them are outdated?
