How to inject Javascript in the between codes?

I've been analyzing the code but still can't get the idea of how I could inject some Javascript scripts between the codes.

The thing that caught my eye is this - $qa_content['script_rel'] but have no idea how it works. Is there like a function like this->output() as I seen on the themes?

is It posiball to make q2a site in javascript without php ?

Hello,

I'm getting this error `Unexpected response from server - please try again or switch off Javascript.` when answering a question, after I clicked "Add answer". The actual response from the server is `HTTP 418 I'm a teapot'.

It's a clean installation of Q2A. I've only added the Markdown editor and a custom theme (derived from "Classic", I've only changed some CSS). It's hosted on a shared hosting.

I'm not sure what is happening... how can I fix this?

I was able to answer the question after disabling javascript, so I think this is a problem with the ajax request. In particular it appears to be an issue with the `qa_root: ../` parameter.

I want to make a page and add a javascript source after a div element. my code is like this:

Hello everybody!

I have a question to ask your opinion.

I am struggling with this from quite some time but cannot find any soltion. I have a really long blog-type post with lots of paragraphs that I have added as a question in my Question2Answer website.

I would like to put adsense code after let's say the 3rd paragraph, but there is no way to do it without modifying the php code. I read the Q2A documentation and from what i understood, i need to change the qa_view function. This is the original code for displaying question content in qa-theme.php:

I have an affiliate partnership with a website. Let’s call it [example.com]. I’d like to automatically add an affiliate parameter [?me=1234] to the URL whenever an answer with a link to [example.com] is posted. I assume this can be done with javascript, but I haven’t been able to make scripts like this one work. This works fine but when you click on "comment" or "add comment" all the page will be reloaded and then rendered by mathjax. I want just the comment will be reloaded to show math.

Is there any way?

I am trying to implement features for SSO site to make it not so different from the old one.

As you can see, the onClick event will call the qa_edit_profile() function which I has written in qa-content\qa-page.js file:

Everything was running fine and then without changing anything I started getting the following error when trying to answer questions:

I went to developer tools to check and see what the error is and got this:

qa-script.js as default in each theme folder

I am sure it would be a nice-to-have to use a qa-script.js for each theme, the same we do for qa-styles.css

I have some custom jquery code that I normally put in qa-page.js which is of course not good since the update overrides it. So a lot of extra work.

Having a qa-script.js in the theme folder would be the best solution I can think of.

PS: When do we transfer the 'old' javascript code of all js files to jquery? It would be much easier to read, plus the entire system would get even more flexible.

I need to create some custom javascript that uses the user role.

I can easily get the user ID from mark-up..

..but is there a way to push the user role (expert, editor, moderator, etc) into a JS variable?

I've written a custom js function to check input data in ask page. function checks whether there's question mark at the end of the sentence and so on... when user moves to next input field(by onBlur="" event)

I've added it to qa-ask.js file first, then to the ask page itself. But in both situations it isn't working. Why it isn't working???

Code itself is fine. But it's not working when applied to q2a

Request for v1.8: Join all Javascript into one file

For less server requests I would suggest to put all JS files into one main file (which could also be provided as a compressed version).

See qa-content/....js

With v.1.7.1 we have:

qa-admin.js (4 KB)
qa-ask.js (9 KB)
qa-page.js (4 KB)
qa-question.js (6 KB)
qa-user.js (4 KB)

Just do one script.js file: would only be 27 KB

It is already enough that each plugin must load its own javascript file, all are adding up to many server requests and make the site load slowly: not good for user experience, not good for seo.
