noindex for the REGISTER pages?

In Google Search Console I see many urls with the warning "Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt". Most of them are like this (with the register?to=) :
learn-greek-online.com/ask-greek/register?to=713%2Fi-douleia-einai-mia-xara
learn-greek-online.com/ask-greek/register?to=162%2Fusing-a-double-g-in-greek

Ideally I would like to have the NOINDEX or at least the CANONICAL tag on those pages. Unfortunatelly they have neither.

Is there a way to add any of these tags on those REGISTER pages? Maybe through a plugin, or by making a change in the code?

In the robots.txt I have this rule:

Disallow: /ask-greek/register*

This prevents crawling of the pages, but cannot prevent their indexing.

How to Noindex question mark URLs? - ?show

Doing the Google command site:mywebsite.com/my-question-post-url I can find multiple pages indexed with ?show parameter.

Is there a plugin which can do the following?

Add a 'Noindex?' checkbox option on ask / edit / view question pages (visible only to Super Admin)
If noindex is selected, meta robots noindex tag should be added in the head section of the html for that question and that question should be excluded from sitemap.
Show question titles of noindexed questions on question listing pages in a different colour.

Updated Google Quality Ratings Guidelines (for Q&A sites)

One of the hot topics of the last week in SEO was news that the confidential Google Quality Ratings Guidelines were re-written a short while back.

For those that don’t know, Google uses thousands of individuals (humans) to rate sites for quality, and the new guide helps those people rating sites with what makes a quality site.

One of the examples given was for;

"This is a page from a Q&A site with an unanswered question. Q&A pages exist to answer user questions. Pages with unanswered questions should generally be rated Low because they have little MC (just a question and no answer) and don’t achieve their purpose well. Misleading or potentially deceptive design makes it hard to tell that there’s no answer, making this page a poor user experience. In addition to having no answer, this page has Ads and links to other questions (misleadingly labeled as “Relevant answers”) displayed prominently, which users may mistake for answers to the question. It takes a moment to notice that this page actually has no answer"

I suggest that for the purposes of SEO, questions with no answers should receive a meta robots noindex directive, until an answer is given.

No answer;

With answer;

(no meta robots directive (which means index,follow).

*I've implemented a noindex on tag pages now* this was done using;

within the qa-page-tag.php file.

Does anyone know how to add this to pages with a question and no answer, but, remove it when the question does get an answer?

Althogh my site has approx 300 questions, but my URLs indexed in search engines are more than 1000. This is because of indexing of tags, categories, question pages, activity pages etc. So, Any Q2A user want to block those pages being indexed by search engines. Many similar question to this suggests to use "disallow: /example-page/" in robots.txt.

But, be clear guys, Robots.txt tells search engines to crawl or not and Meta Tags tells search engines to index or not.

If you add disallow to any pages in robots.txt, it won't make your pages being de-indexed by search engines. You should add <meta noindex,nofollow>

I saw many q2a websites but none of them are performing very well in search engines, this is because they index all pages and search engines hate it! I saw many duplicate title and description issues in Google webmaster tools. If this thing resolved (adding meta tags via admin panel or custom function codes) then believe me, there will be more users coming to q2a sites as well as more users to question2answer script.

I hope developers will take this as serious issue

Blocking page

There are a few ways to block search engines from accessing a given domain:

Block with Robots.txt

This tells the engines to not crawl the given URL but tells them that they may keep the page in the index and display it in in results.

Block with Meta NoIndex
This tells engines they can visit but they are not allowed to display the URL in results. (This is the recommended method)
