I have updated my Q2A 1.8.3 and tried to modify texts for "Notice at top for new registered users - HTML allowed",

I checked the checkbox after modifying texts, BUT it is still sowing old texts for logged in users:

I had checked after clear cache/data & also checked in other browsers. Tried many ways to resolve this issue but this is not reflecting.

Also tried to remove & unchecking box, still not reflecting ...

Could you please resolve this issue, thanks in advance.

Closed-by-Notice questions cannot be deleted - can we change that?

Got a moderator complaining, why he cannot delete hidden questions. Turns out that you cannot delete them when there is a closed-by-notice (I knew that already).

So this is the recent way to delete such questions:

A bit "annoying".

It would be better to have the delete button, and the server removes the notice automatically.

What do you think?

Encountered a NOTICE while searching something

While searching something on my q2a website, I encountered a notice on top area of header. The notice says

Again and again I have to remove the "edit by" notice - which is only possible in core as far as I know: http://question2answer.org/qa/15785/how-to-hide-the-edit-by-notice?show=15785#q15785

because the function is within qa-app-format.php.

Why not make it an option in the admin panel, then it could be:

line 553: 'updateview' => true,

to: 'updateview' => qa_opt('show_edit_by'),

This should be very quick to add...

Actually that was my first core hack, to hide the "edit by" notice. Because it makes no sense if you cannot see what has been edited. So it is kind of "somebody changed something" "but you will never know what!"...

I know that Scott's great edit history plugin can help here, but nevertheless, please make the silence option for "all users".

Furthermore, I think there is a bug: When I visit my page anonymous, I still can see who edited (site in dev, nothing work): http://www.klaustukai.lt/2/starting-a-wonderful-forum-that-will-help-all-lithuanians Bug report opened here.

From 1.6 on we have the option "Editing posts silently:" under admin/permissions.

To clarify: Does this option hide the notice below a question "Edited by ..."?

If so, it does not work with v1.6.2. Even anonymous visitors get displayed this edit-by information.
