I do q2a paid plugins as freelancer job. Anyone who interested can pm me with satisfactory explanation regarding plugins functionality and workflow.

I see many posts here saying I want quiz plugin, but for me to develop it, i need more information about its workflow. Ideally, you should write down step by step, what options you need in backend and fronted. How plugin should work? etc. So it will be easy for me to understand and do the job quickly and give you right price for it.

Here is a sample explanation of one of my client, which i found very clear and work pretty comfortable work, without any waste of time for afterwards modifications/updates.

1) user A asks question normally (in ask page)
2) after question is posted, it is visible as normal to anyone
3) but admin/moderator has option to delete it with a reason. (so, need delete button in question viewing page, ideally near to edit button. And an admin setting to set which userlevel can be moderator)
4) the deleted post will be hidden to all users, except owner. The post should be marked or labelled as "Deleted/Hidden" and the owner can edit (correct) it according to mentioned reason. During this stage question is still invisible/hidden.
5) after edition is submitted, admin/moderator can decide to accept or reject (if reject with a reason again), and the question is permanently hidden or deleted whichever makes sense.
6) if admin/moderator accepts question edit, then question becomes be visible and normal
* For users below X points, Q2A has an option to send posts to moderation. So, even in that moderation screen page, the points from 3-6 you mentioned should work.

Functionality of plugin:

1) Plugin creates a table in database to store data.

2) Admin sets userlevels who can edit posts.

3) Post edit is subjected to approval (review). If it is accepted by reviewer then it becomes valid, otherwise pre-edit version will be valid.

4) Admin sets userlevels who can review posts that are submitted for edition.

5) Reviewers can Accept/Reject edition.

6) Reviewers can see difference between pre-edit and post-edit versions comparatively. The changes will be highlight.

7) There is a pending edits page for reviewers where they can accept reject pending edition submissions.

8) There is "see edit" button for reviewers on q-list each edition pending questions. Reviewers can click on button and perform review.

Funding for q2a system development?

Hi,

I'm fan of this open-source (Q2A). I've been using the system for many years, even since the development of the first versions of the Gidgreen site. There were new versions every month when there was Gidgreen.

Later Scott was responsible for developing the project. Then I have recognized that the development of the system has slowed down. Pupi1985, Q2APro, Sama55, Jatin.Soni also made a great contribution to the development of the site. Of course, I know that it will take a lot of time, but many sites are working based on Q2A. I think the owners of these sites are not against the development of the system Q2A. Therefore, it would be a good idea to organise the donation among users of the system for the development.

[New Premium Plugin] TUB - Temporary User Block

Q2A makes it easy to get rid of a user that is not behaving properly in a site. With a few clicks the user can be blocked and their posts hidden or even removed. In most cases, blocking users in this way is the right way to go.

However, this leaves aside a few things:

There is no way to see why a user was blocked
In order to warn a user and block them for a short period of time, it is needed to manually set the reminder to go to the user profile and unblock them later

The Temporary User Block plugin tackles exactly those 2 issues. It does so by asking some additional information to the user whenever a block is being performed. The information is requested in a popup displayed whenever the Block button is pressed:

The user selects the period for the block (8 hours in this case), optionally inputs a reason for it and selects whether to send the blocked user an email notification with this information. After confirming the information, the user is immediately blocked. However, once the 8-hour period finishes, the user will be automatically unblocked.

This should serve as warnings for users who still have a chance to become productive members of a community and also would help administrators understand better why a moderator blocked a given user.

Here is a complete list of features:

Allows users to be blocked either permanently or temporary
Users are able to include a reason for the block that is displayed in the user profile
Both kind of blocks can send a block email notification to the blocked user
Temporary blocks can be configured in hours and days
A countdown is displayed in the user profile showing the user how much time left they have before getting unblocked
Once the countdown reaches zero, the temporary blocked user is unblocked
Admin options allow to set the block reason length as well as what user levels should be able to see the additional profile fields

I was working on developing online users plugin recently. Using ajax polling checks I achieve to do it.

Here how it works:

The plugin shows current online users
It checks user's status every 2 minutes using ajax polling. The online/offline timeout can be set by admin. By default it is set as 3 minutes.
If a user remains actionless for a certain minutes then its status goes to idle. The timeout for idle state can be set by admin. By default it is 5 minutes.
If a user goes idle, then ajax polling check will run every 4 minutes. It is to mitigate unnecessary poll checks within a time interval.
If a user logs out then s/he is deleted from the database table for online users immediately.
If a user closes browser without logging out then s/he is deleted from the database table within online/offline timeout.
The plugin has a widget for sidebar. In order to not mess up sidebar widget where number of online users are large, the admin can set a limit for displaying users in the widget. By default this limit is set to 10.
And there will appear a link to "full list of online users" at the bottom of the widget once the number of online users exceeds the display limit. The link will redirect you to the plugins page where you can see all currently online users.
Admin can set who can see online users.

[PREMIUM PLUGIN] VerifyPlus

I have developed a new plugin that deal with verified accounts. This is premium plugin for a cost of 50 USD.

Basically, the plugin offer functionalities such as;

For Admins in backend:

Determine user verifier level
Allow/Disallow users to make requests for verification of their accounts.
Enable/Disable point-based automatic verification. Users accounts who reach determined points will be automatically verified by the plugin system.

For Users in Frontend:

If admins allow send verification requests, users can send request asking to verify their accounts
There is 30 days of EMBARGO period for verification rejected users, so that they should wait 30 days after decision time to make a new request for verification.
File Upload function integrated (if enabled by admin, users will need to upload jpg, png, pdf file with max.size set by admin)

For Admins in Frontend:

They can moderate (accept & reject) verification requests and remove already verified users' verifications

In Frontend for all:

Verification icon will appear for verified accounts in posts.

At User-profile page, verification row appears for verified users with symbol, and for unverified users too.

- The user "test5" is not verified, and he is viewing his own page.

- The user "admin" is verified, and he is viewing the user profile page of other user called "demo".

- The user "admin" is verified, and he is viewing his own page.

NOTE: it can be integrated with point system (check my BonusPlus plugin) as well. Users can pay some points in order to make verification request. And users can be awarded some points if their account is successfully verified.

UPDATE1: point-based automatic verification feature has been added. Admin can enable/disable it.

UPDATE2: Verification file upload feature has been added. Admin can enable/disable it. Admin can set max.size limit. Supported file formats are images and pdf.

[premium plugin] Scheduled Posts

This is premium paid plugin that schedules posts to be automatically published in future date. It is tested on qa 1.7.4.

Functionality of plugin:

1) Plugin creates a table in database to store data.

2) Admin sets which user levels can use schedule posts to be published in future date.

3) Admin sets which user levels can moderate (view, publish immediately, delete) all scheduled posts.

4) Normal users (2) can see/delete/publish only their own scheduled posts. However, moderators (3) can see/delete/publish all scheduled posts.

5) Plugin adds new navigation tab "My Scheduled Posts" to user profile page.

6) Permitted user (2) goes to ASK page. At the bottom there will be a check box of "Post Later". If it is checked then scheduling functionality will be active. If not checked then normal ask procedure of q2a will be valid.

7) User can set only future dates.

8) Plugin has page that shows list of posts scheduled for future dates. It is accessible only by moderator users set in (3)

9) When date comes, plugin will automatically publish the post.

10) In order to not cause load to database. Published posts will be removed from scheduled table after one day. Because published posts will already be in posts table.

11) It will require manual set for cronjob from cpanel. Alternatively, admin/plugin option includes "Run Cronjob" button. You can click it as well. It will not be problem if you click it many times per day. The script will only run once per day.

[New Premium Plugin] DM - Dynamic Mentions

As I usually do, I'd like to compare Q2A with StackOverflow.com, which is the kind of platform I believe Q2A should aim to become, and try to see what makes it better to steal some ideas. Clearly, user mentions, in the form of @user, with a UI-friendly solution came up so I decided to create a nicely looking plugin that would take care of this.

This should sum everything up:

The animated sequence shows how typing an @ character followed by a couple of additional characters triggers the display of a popup to select users. The admin can configure this popup to be filled with only the users involved in the question thread or every user in the site.

Mentioning a user not only creates a link to the user's profile but also can notify them about the mention. The admin can configure two kinds of notifications. One is an email notification. The other one is a notification by means of the On-Site Notifications plugin. This notification system is very useful when trying to involve other users into a thread.

One additional feature that is worth mentioning is that the admin can set a minimum user level that will be allowed to create mentions to other users. That way the admin can restrict the feature just to Editors and above.

FREE VERSION:
-It enables ONLY ADMINS to give free of charge bonus points to users mentioning specific reasons.
-You can determine maximum and minimum points from admin settings.
-Points can be negative as well. Example, for spamming or violence you can give negative bonus point to users.
-All transaction are recorded in new table called qa_bonusplus at database.

PREMIUM VERSION:
-It augments free version in 5 dimensions:

1) LOYALTY EXTENSION:
-It awards a certain bonus points PER DAY for users who was logged in the site.
-In admin settings, admin can set award bonus points for per day login.
-In admin settings, admin can enable/disable it.

2) DONATION EXTENSION:
-Users can donate their points to another user.

-In admin settings, admin can enable/disable it.

3) PROMOTION EXTENSION:

-Promotion duration is 24 hours.
-In admin settings, admin can enable/disable it.

4) REFERRAL EXTENSION:
-Users can earn bonus points by referring a new user. Points are automatically awarded to referrer user once new user completes registration process from a link URL given by referrer user.
-In admin settings, admin can enable/disable it.
-In admin settings, admin can set amount of bonus points to be awarded to referrer user per reference.
-Widget Box for referral is also available in users page. From this widget referrer users can send URL link inviting other users. This URL link will be unique for the referrer user. New users should complete their registration via this provided url.
-From Referral Widget users can send referral linkt to facebook, twitter, google plus, odnoklassniki, and vkontakte. The raw URL will be also provided to user to copy and share it in other platforms.

5) RECORDS PAGE EXTENSION:
-User Records page adds user-sub navigation where all above transactions (incoming and outcoming) are shown. Standard users can only see their own bonus records page. Admins can see any users records.
-In admin settings, admin can set user level that can do/see all bonusplus activities.

COMMON SETTING:
-In admin settings, admin can enable/disable Bonusplus plugin.
-In admin settings, admin can add/remove include CSS that are necessary for the plugin. If you dont like to add inline CSS, then you should copy related CSS code into your style.css file.

-Tested on q2a-1.7.4 in SnowFlat theme.
