What it shows,

I want the questions page to be the default homepage instead of recent questions and answers without any redirection.

I meant, the homepage should have the "questions" page and when someone clicks on the "questions" tab in the menu, the link should return to homepage as it is the default questions page.

I want to entirely remove the recent questions and answers page from q2a.

How do I do this?

I have changed the home page title of my website and now I have changed the default homepage of my website "Recent Questions and Answers" to "Recent Activities" homepage. This fix doesn't show my previously customized title. The title "Recent Activities" is coming. Now I want to use a custom title on the "Recent Activities" page?

There is a tab called "recent activity" in the user profiles, however, I was thinking about a section to monitor all user's activitis

I am sure that most of the users do not use the activities page. I am one of them. I do not use the "my updates" page either, btw.

Why? you might ask, because the necessary information is not easy to find there.

I am still using the history plugin of NoahY, which is 2-3 years old now, in my public forums. Despite the fact that q2a 1.6.x has the "recent activities" built in.

Just compare!:

My suggestion, change the activities page. Reduce the unnecessary information, then users will be able to use it finally.

You should start by removing the q-item-stats (view count, answer count), the tags, and the category.

I did some CSSing, this is the result:

3. The activity "commented, answered, ..." should stand before the title of the question.

It is important WHEN+WHAT the user did, then follows WHERE.

Hi everyone,

I set up my homepage with "Recent question". The problem is we can't see recent activity into the question, like if someone answer question like it's possible in "All activity". Then, I would like under "Asked 10hours ago by User" to put "Answered 2 jours ago by User"

Build-in Recent Activity vs. History Plugin

With v1.6.2 we have the recent activity tab for each user.

However, when I compare the event data from the built-in core and the history plugin I see that the history plugin gives much more details, it records all events.

What I see in activity list provided by core:

• "edited 1 day ago"

What I see with the history plugin:

• posted a question

• edited a question

• question commented on

• voted up a question

My question now: Is there any way to get all those details in the core activity list? And it seems that the "edited" notice overwrote the "asked" notice. Is the correct?

I am suggesting this workaround for pagination of activity page. Many of us need pagination of activity page for the follwoing reasons:

1 - We want to set the frontpage to be activity page so that our visitors get to see more often updates, once they open our website. We don't want them to open the home page and bounce back and walk, right?

2- at the same time we wanna show them the many pages of the questions posted on our qa forum (1 2 ...2000 Next) so that they know that our qa forum is busy.

3- also we only need the default page (front page) to display the most recent activities.The reason is item 1 mentioned above ( we dont want the visitors to see the frontpage and see nothing new from past 24 hours.

At the same time we know that pagination is only available for the list of questions (question2answer.org/qa/questions)

So my suggestion is to combine the two in the following way:

1- set the default page(front page) to question2answer.org/qa/activity using this method http://www.question2answer.org/qa/20896/how-to-set-the-frontpage-to-be-mydomain-com-qa-questions

2- add a code to display the followng view model at the top of only front page:( I dont know how to do this part)

where page 0 being selected means the current page is frontpage which contains the most recent activity and clicking on the the rest of page numbers takes us to the correcponding page of question2answer.org/qa/questions.

clicking on any of thoese numbers will take us the question2answer.org/qa/questions which is already paginated.

So all I wanted to do was to bring this

to the front page. Can we do that?

New plugin: User Activity Plus

This is a plugin that displays all the questions and answers of a user! It adds links under Recent Activity and next to the questions and answers count on a user page.

The lists are paginated like normal question lists; it picks up the number from the "Questions page length" option. Answers use a similar design to question lists but also shows a snippet of the answer. Both lists include the class `qa-a-count-selected` where applicable for appropriate styling of selected answers.

Updates:

Language file now included for easy translation to other languages.
Option to include the CSS inline on the page (IMO it's still preferable to put it in your global CSS).
404 error for non-existent users.

How do I increase the amount of "Recent activity" shown on the user pages?

I looked in the options on Admin > Viewing. By "Posts on user page:" it already said 20, but only 10 are being shown on each user page. Changing it (or any of the other fields) makes no difference. Any ideas?
