db queries are about 221.

Isn't it possible to implement syntax highlighter plugin here? It is very difficult to post code and view code. I am strongly in favor of that.

I also would prefer to have Markdown editor. Scott already made nice plugin which can be implemented.

I could not find a list of plugin requests, so this is why I ask now.

NoahY and Scott provided a lot of great plugins that add awesome features to the core of q2a. From their coding I also learnt to write my plugins. Sama55 and jatin.soni are doing a good job too.

So you may want to present your idea to us. One or the other could be realized :)

Request of two pages for one plugin possible? Bug?

I have 2 pages for 1 plugin and for each page, I send a request to the page itself with qa_self_html(), then catching it with qa_post_text('request').

I registered both pages in the qa-plugin.

However, now only the first page receives the request, the second page is not getting it! Even though I am using other request / title / class names etc.

Any help appreciated.

In other words: How can I request page 2 instead of page 1?

The modded q2a-website http://luvitt.com/ shows incoming events live on the top right, screenshot:

The developer said he is using node.js + socket.io application.

I am quite sure that this is also possible in php / javascript / jquery.

So anyone who feels fancy, have a go and do a plugin for q2a ;)

PS: For sure you could use the history plugin of NoahY for a good start / template. This plugin displays all events in a nice table with according language strings!

Q2A Theme System Kvetching (and a new Stack Overflow theme)

I took a look at the old Q2AStack theme mentioned here:

In doing so, I made clear in my mind two things:

1) the q2a theme system is a great concept. Not sure if it's revolutionary or maybe I just live under a rock, but it's better than any theme system I've seen. It makes custom theme creation exceptionally easy, exemplified, I think, by the Q2AStack theme above.

2) there are still some areas where it could improve, as far as custom theme creating goes - great doesn't mean perfect, after all :)

So, maybe we can use this thread to kvetch about theming issues and maybe get some of them implemented in 1.5? Here's my list:

1. it would be really useful to have more information available to the various functions. For instance, when editing vote_buttons($post), I would like to know which sort of post this is. Is it a q-view or is it a q-list-item? There are many, many instances of this, and my workaround is just to add the information higher up in the theme hierarchy (so $post['class'] = 'q_item'), etc.

2. much of the data in qa_content is already html-ified when we get it. Is this really necessary? It would be much better, from a theme point of view if things like user handles, votes, titles, forms, etc. are left as data and processed by the theme. That would make it alot easier to fully customize the interface.

3. some of the functions make preprocessing difficult, and so require us to rewrite the theme ourselves, which of course is dangerous. Example:

What if I don't want parentheses around the points? Here's my answer:

That's all for me... anyone else have any suggestions? Hopefully this is helpful for Gideon, rather than adding unnecessary burden.

I don't see how it is possible to close existing questions to prevent new answers from being posted. If this doesn't exist, can it be added in the next version?

Feature Request: Report As SPAM

I've hard experience of what SPAM can do to a great site especially user generated contents. And since then, it's become one of of my TOP priorities when launching any site, that has to do with user generated content. I'm about to launch a Q&A site and have been test running some Q&A script but I fell in love with Q2A when I discovered it few weeks ago but I'd love if it had a "report as spam link/button on every question and answer" which member can click on to report any question/answer/comment as spam to the admin/mod.

At V1.2b1, when add category, URL slug is omitted and copy title. English is no problem, but slug is different from title by country such as Japan or else. I want to display slug like editing page, and if slug is blank, then copy title.

We are also working on integrating our version with our main website database, havent looked at advanced version yet, just getting a feel for it. But would like to export users points values for use on pages outside of Q2A if possible.
