We set up our Q2A instance and it is intended to be used by authenticated users only, logging in with their LDAP credentials. Registration is disabled and Q2A users are automatically created on first login.

What we now need is a way to deny public access to the list of questions. I know there's a configuration setting ''View question pages: Registered users", but this does not prevent guests from browsing the list of questions.

We want to also prevent search engines from indexing the list of questions. There's an option "Allow search engines to view question pages", but I can speculate that this refers to the actual question and not to the list of questions, by association with the similar option referring to users.

What would be the corret approach for these two issues?

I started Question2Answer Japan in March. This site has been opened in consultation with Gideon. And kindly, he added link of Q2A Japan to international sites page. Currently, there are two Q2A international sites. Now, I am translating all Q2A technical documents that Gideon made with hard work into Japanese. I started to introduce Q2A to my Japanese users. Q2A reputation in Japan is good. I am praying that Q2A spread to many countries. I want to thank gideon deeply.

How to extend Q2A to a non-q2a PHP page?

Hi,

Since Q2A does not allow any PHP coding in Q2A-Pages, I have made a PHP page separtely. But I want to show it as a part of Main Q2A.
To give it a similar appearance, i think I will need to include, at least header (with ability to show login/register or points, depending on the case whether user is logged in or not), background and footer, in my PHP file.

But, I don't know how to achieve that? Also, what else will I have to include? A short code-demo would be helpful.

I have looked into similarly asked questions too, but couldn't find any satisfactory answer.

Also, if it has any relevance with theme used, then demo for Snow theme will be helpful.

I developed "Closed Site" plugin. This plugin supports default 3 theme (Default / Candy / Snow). It can easily support third party theme. You can build closed site without changing theme file.

How to enable login when existing site is moved to different domain

I am transplanting site in certain domain to local server. I can't login to moved site. This site is V1.6.

Cookie (qa_key) is unacquirable seems to be cause. Error: "key cookie missing".

I think that security process of CSRF have blocked login process. Is there any solution?

on non q2a php page? Of course when user is log in I would like to show username, points, logout buttons etc.

I have a website where I want to integrate Q2A. The site layout is defined and I want to add a menu item from where a list of questions is shown. What's the best practice for this?

a) build own scripts an make everything with the functions of Q2A?

b) try to eleminate the menu from Q2A and make a theme which looks my own site and then put the menu at the same place?

c) something else?

I just visited WebPlatform.org which is a new site set up by some of the biggest players on the internet, and saw they have a Q&A section run by none other than Q2A! http://talk.webplatform.org/forums/ (really nice design too)

The site is organized by the W3C, and supported by: Adobe, Apple, Facebook, Google, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla, Nokia and Opera.

Pretty awesome, right? Gideon, maybe you should mention this on the front page :)

I suppose that is simple for you guys, but I’ve no idea how..

I would like to make my site seo friendly.
What should I have to do for this? I mean, give title tag, meta tags, description to site, or not needed? If so, to where:
themeroot/qa-theme.php
or
mysite.com/index.php

I find somewhere these code:

In ADMIN/LAYOUT page find Include <META> description for home page. Is this option responsible for site title?? I filled this field but seems to not affect any results. So now I’m totaly confused, please enlighten me.
