We ask the developers who still remains here , Or who left but he still a Q2A fan

To make other community for Q2A to help them generate earning from Q2A

The community must has "needed paid improvemets" to allow users to post their ideas/budget and requirements then the developers reviwe it and make bids such as freelancer.com

The community has a gallery which developpers can post their premium thems and plugins in one place and can sell its there and get paid

I can rent the server ( for free) for this project if any developer like to cooperate

Hi Q2A community :)

After working with this platform the last months i need to express my opinion and my thoughts about Q2A.

The reason that this project is dying as many people discussing here is that Q2A really lacks of some modern functions. This is how a modern forum must work:

1. After succesfull User Registration force the user to Follow/Favorite at least 5 tags.

2. Display Activity (Questions/Answers) at the home page based on the tags the user favorited.

3. A better Multi-search autocomplete field that will search for Questions, Users and Tags. Like this one here: http://easyautocomplete.com/examples.

4. A better Notification and Messaging System. I think that you already built a plugin for that in the past.

5. Following Users and Be Followed By Other Users. This Can be easily done by modificate the existing "Favorite User Function". I already did that with success and now i m displaying Different Pages for Favorited Questions, Favorited Tags and Users as well.

6. A new Fresh and Modern Profile Page. I also built that for my website.

7. And at the end a very Good Function That will keep the users visiting again and again the site is a fucntion that will allow the user to be informed (Email or/and Onsite Notification) when a question is posted under a tag that this user already Followed.

Example: I as user "xxxxx" make a question tagged with the tag: #Sience and you are already favorited this tag. Then the system will send you a notification to you that the user
"xxxxx" posted a question under tag #Sience so you will be able to answer at the questions/Topics you are interesting for.

8. A good working User Mention System that works out of the box with autocomplete ajax search.

9. A new Fresh Theme that will make the difference. ( i 'm also working now on that ;) ).

I am pretty sure that if we pay attention to those features then the Q2A Platform will become unbeatable ;)

I am here to help/contribute on anything has to do with User Interface and Design and more. Lets do our best for this platform because it deserves the best. Lets keep the project Alive. All together ( Developers and Designers) we can Transform this project into a gem !!!

Some Coming Plugins [Free]

Hi, I'm currently making some plugins which are listed as follows:

1. AdChat - Displays an AJAX chat window for logged in users and adsense for logged out ones. Works in sidebar only and AJAX chat is a very stable chat and works well with lots of customization though is a bit bulky. It is not as clean as some of the JS chats on websites, but this is the best free chat option which I could find that can be hosted on our server.

2. Site-wide notifications - Allows a text area for admins/moderators to send out a message and this gets displayed as a notice to all users of the site - notice comes as that of the new badge one.

3. Previous - Next button is an already existing plugin for Q2A. Extending this to show Prev-Next button for same category.

4. Subject Experts - A widget in category page that lists the best performers for that Category. More options to follow.

5. Answer Hide option - Adds a user filed which allows users to hide all answers by default and only when they click "Show" answer is shown.

6. Better email - Needs suggestion here. I haven't really used the email feature of Q2A much. I would like to email subject experts if a question is posted and no answer for say 1 week. Also, reply via email to be implemented at last stage.

I know these have been suggested before But i am re suggesting them again in hopes to get people interested in them...

The 5 things this script needs are the following:

1 Convert both answer title box's to text box's so people can see what they have typed, But leave blue border on main page box if possible.
2 Give users the ability to delete their their questions answers and comments
3 Give users the ability to block other people from answering their questions and pming them
4 A Private users galley that will give people the ability to share photos with who they want
5 The ability to right click and paste in a normal fashion, (Box is annoying)
6. For Mozilla fire fox spell checker to work when typing right now as i am typing this and attempt to right click to get a list of word to correct a spelling error all I get is the paste option, on other sites when I use mozilla firefox and misspell a word I only need to right click on it to get a list of words to choose...

On Stack Exchange, sites have "Review queues" for users with enough reputation points to review certain posts.

For example, this is Maths Overflow's review queue.

There are 6 different review queues.

First Posts: Whenever a new user posts his first post, his post appears in this review queue/. This could be a question, or an answer. Available to anyone with at least 500 reputation points.
Late Answers: Whenever a new user posts his first answer to a really old question, his answer comes in this review queue. Available to anyone with at least 500 reputation points.
Suggested Edits: When a user with less than 2000 reputation points suggests an edit to any post, the suggested edit comes under this review queue. Available to anyone with at least 2000 reputation points. If the edit is approved, the suggester gains 2 reputation points. If it is rejected, nothing happenns.
Low Quality Posts. When an ordinary user flags a post as "Low Quality", the post appears here. Ava4ilable to anyone with at least 2000 reputation points.
Close Votes. When a user with at least 3000 reputation votes to close a question, or when a user with less than 3000 reputation flags a question, this question appears right here for review for users to vote to close or leave it open the question. Available to anyone with at least 3000 reputation points. If at least 5 users vote to close the question, it will get closed.
Reopen Votes. Similar to Close Votes, but for reopening questions instead. Available to anyone with at least 3000 reputation points.

Now, in my opinion, the "First Posts", "Late Answers", queues are not necessary.

The "Low Quality Posts", "Close Votes", and "Reopen Votes" review queues are not so necessary either, since it is possible to use a meta thread where users can ask for closing/reoepening of questions, and other users can vote on that.

That boils down to suggesting edits. This is very important for community moderation. Is there any Q2A plug-in for suggesting edits, and suggested edit review queues?

1. Credit manager plugin

adds a tab where you can see your score calculation history , something like that :

like in facebook or linkedin i can mention a user by the prefix @

How to replace existing tag suggestion with a jquery one?

I would like to implement http://textextjs.com/ instead of the recent tags suggestions.

However, the tags suggestions seems part of the core, and not easy to remove.

What would be the easiest way to handle this?

PS: Isn't it time to use only jquery, and no pure JS?!

A few suggestions (don't get upset with me being always making suggestions :P)

Well, I have a few ideas of things tha could be done, and I would like to hear everyone's opinions. :D

1 - A Wiki. It would be great if Q2A had a official wiki, so everyone would contribute to the documentation and make tutorials. And it starts to become more important as long as the plugins get more possible features.

2 - A plugin browser, maybe any open source software you find and that fit the needs. I mean, just a simple plugin browser where the users could share they work with the world. :)

3 - A plugin module to do some database cleanup. Like the possibility to add a custom button at the end of the stats page, in the admin center, so plugins could make some database cleanup too.

4 - Possibility to add custom events to the event logger, even plugins. It would be great because it would allow plugins to interact better with each other, and if someone need to hook the core code of the application, it ould be easier to just regist there an event and then do the rest on a plugin.

What do you think? :)

so that when a user is typing a search query for answers/questions or when a user is typing in his question, suggestions should instantly appear in the search box.

This question is going as a top 5 HOT! question for last 6 days. i was hoping Gidgreen would answer this for the benefit of all users
