Hello everyone,

Several individuals are registering on the website and writing a post in the profile about their specific websites along with putting the website link.

Are these links problematic if left or should I delete them?

Is there a way to prevent such individuals?

Is there a way to prevent anyone from posting links?

I believe this is spam and it is very common.

What should I do?

PHP 8.01 User profile is not displayed

I have installed the latest version of Question2Answer. If I use PHP 8.029, the User profile page is not displayed when I click on a user's profile picture (Error 500). The server reports the following error:

I'm using the MayroPro theme. Can anyone help me?

According to GDPR we need to allow user to delete their profiles when they want. There is no such functionality right now and I found 2 posts (2018 and 2019) with same topic:

Remove exif data from users profile images

I got a request from a security team about uploaded images.

They asked whether it is possible to clean out uploaded images from personal information.

When a user uploads an image, the uploaded image’s EXIF Geo location Data does not get stripped. As a result, anyone can get sensitive information of users like their Geo-location, their Device information like Device Name, Version, Software & Software version used, etc.

Is there any way to process uploaded images and exclude such information from it?

p.s. you can use https://exifdata.com/ to read meta data of image.

I have integrated qa with a wordpress site using the standard integration install .

When I attempt to link to a user profile page directly from my wordpress site the qa site responds with the profile page BUT the user shows as not logged in on the qa site.

This doesnt happen when I link to the 'ask a question' page - that opens correctly and the user is correctly logged in.

IS there a way to link correctly to the qa user profile so that they can see the page and be logged in? Have I missed some requirement in how I have to link to this?

I want it such that only the user can see their 'recent activities' including questions they have asked or answered. i.e when other users visit a user's profile, they can't see these information.

In the user questions list we have a "selected" class (for each question that has a selcted answer) which is easily to target by CSS.

I like to display the same class for the answers of each user on their answers list page. But the class qa-a-count-selected does not exist on this page. See example HTML at: https://www.question2answer.org/qa/user/pupi1985/answers

Support query strings for user profile redirects

I think user profile redirect might be improved a bit. Now I'm facing the following problem:

In the latest version of Q2A, when I go to the URL
https://mysite/user
it should redirect to
https://mysite/user/my-username

Supposing I've installed the q2a-privileges plugin on my Q2A installation, the privileges tab will be available via http://mysite/user/my-username?tab=privileges. If I access the URL
https://mysite/user?tab=privileges

it should go to

https://mysite/user/my-username?tab=privileges

and so on for every URL query string.

I know that by accessing https://mysite/user, I get automatically redirected https://mysite/user/my-username. However, if I insert a URL query string, it will be lost during redirect.

So the questions are:

May query strings be kept when handling such redirects?
If it is not possible, does exist there an alternative to achieve such redirect, while keeping query strings (using only HTML)?

"Not Acceptable!" error on user profile

It seems that there is something issue with .htaccess file, before it has some issue on other user profile section, like: all answer, all question etc. now it gives an error:

I contacted with bluehost, they had tried to correct, this error. But still not working.

Before, going to bluehost team, just I want to understand that should I replace .htaccess file with fresh one? or any other solution available for this issue?

Please note that this cause occurred after SSL certificate removed yesterday automacally (I don't know why this removed, this was 4 times, which is another issue).

#Update:
I also tried different URL Structure, but couldn't help.

Users profile section "page not found" issue

When I visit profile of any user and try to click any other section of that user like: all activity, all questions, all answers, then it returns an error "page not found" and link changes to "https://mysite.com/index.php?qa-rewrite=user/Gudda/answers". (please note that I have set (/123/why-do-birds-sing (requires htaccess file) URL structure, which is already working fine for others, like question link).

Even, in my (admin) account, these sections are not working.

Is it some database error or anything else, could you please resolve this issue?

All the display will circular profile pic. user profile, question etc...

Question2Answer plugin for hiding users list from anonymous visitors and not confirmed users

Usualy, closed access sites neet to hide list of users for privacy issues. This plugin does just that.

When plugin is installed and enabled, visotors that are not logged in and user that are not confirmed will not see Users menu option.

More than that, if user tries to access users list or user profile by typing URL of the page it will also be protected.

Usernames are removed from lists of questions, actually replaced with 'hidden.user'.

Avatars are also hidden from anonymous visitors.

Works with Question2Answer version 1.7.5 and newer. Not tested with earlier versions.

HOW TO USE

Install this plugin by copying it to qa-plugin/qa-hide-users-list directory and enable it using Question2Answer site admin.

ISSUES

I could not find proper way to obtain directory path for plugin so I had to hardcode that path to load replacement page for Users which is located within this plugin directory. Suggestions how to overome this are welcome.
