How to exclude tags from duplicate questions?

I am tidying up my tags, and find a lot of "trash tags" that belong to duplicate questions.

Does it make sense to have those tags in the tags list?

I mean, duplicate questions point to the correct / original question whose tags are to be considered, isn't it?

I don't think you benefit a lot removing tags only because they are only in duplicate questions. If it would be ok to have if they weren't in duplicate questions then it's ok to have them around. On the other hand, if the tags are very similar to other popular tags, you might want to consider using Tagging Tools Plugin by Scott Vivian. It features adding tag synonyms which helps a lot in organizing.
