Anyone know how to hack the script so that google (and other services) get pinged when there is a new question posted?

thanks

No, I do not know that, but I can confirm that google works very well with this script. On one installation I have about 10 questions daily, and all these Questions are added to the google index within 48 hours max.

I am linking to this page just very few times, but google automatically revisits the site often, as google knows that the content changes daily.

Would be happy to have this behaviour on my blogs at least. Hope this helps a little bit.

Google should monitor the RSS feed on the site and update its index accordingly. Remember, pinging new pages to Google doesn't mean they will index them instantly.

It's also a good idea to set up a Webmaster Tools account at http://www.google.com/webmasters/
You can add your feed there as a sitemap and Google should keep its index  of your site fairly fresh.

now a days Google and other search engines monitor RSS for site update, as long as rss is on it should be fine.
