How can I customize the user profile settings for new members?

Question

I’m setting up a new Q2A site and noticed that new users cannot edit their profiles.
Is there a way to allow profile editing earlier, or change the reputation level required?
Also, where in the admin panel can I control these permissions?

You can customize profile settings for new members by visiting the admin section

in Q2A, profile editing permissions are tied to the reputation thresholds set in Admin → Permissions.
You can lower the “Edit own profile” reputation requirement there to allow earlier access.
