FIrst of all, great job with q2a. My client wants a website developed with this script as the back bone. My concern is that there is javascript in the script so can they keep it closed source (will be hosted on a public domain)?

Under the GPL license you can modify Q2A to run on your own server without making your mods open source, so long as you're not redistributing or reselling your modifications to others.
