A user is allowed to edit his question body ---> OK.

He is also allowed to edit his question title ---> Ok, but the link of the question page  should not change.

Modifying it can impact on the SEO of the website.

Eg : If the question page has collected many (follow) backlinks from various websites (because the question has answers with value and genuine content), modifying the page address will originate broken links (no more link "juice" to the page...)

Is it possible to have such an option in 1.6.3 ?  wink

(it could be a permission : "changing post/question URL" ---> Admins, Anybody, .....)

Q2A version: 1.6.2

q2a uses the canonical tag to redirect search engines to the correct URL. I read that you don't lose SEO score after pointing the highly scored site to another URL.

You might have noticed that this site: http://www.question2answer.org/qa/28314/editing-questions-editing-question-question-changed-impact

can also be called with: http://www.question2answer.org/qa/28314/randomstuffhere

or http://www.question2answer.org/qa/28314/

When you are still concerned about, prevent your users from editing the post after 5 min or so. Here is the core hack:  http://www.question2answer.org/qa/13137/disable-option-question-after-certain-hacking-page-question?show=13162#a13162 (i still think this should be core option but unf. gidgreen has not yet implemented it).
