Is it possible to remove votes and points?

I'm interested in using Q2A on a family site as sort of a chat feature. We really would have no use for the voting or the points - can they be removed or disabled? Thank you!

Uncheck these options:

Allow voting on questions
Allow voting on answers
Allow voting on comments

under Admin > Viewing page
