Hi there! My name is Ivan Montik. I was born in Ecuador and was raised in Tarrytown, NY, and I’m currently a first-year student living in Grays Hall. I hope to concentrate in Biomedical Engineering and am also interested in studying migration policy and Latin American history. Having grown up undocumented and low-income, I am passionate about activism and public service, and I have found my community at Harvard in advocacy and Latinx organizations. Currently, I serve as Associate Chair for Advocacy for Latinas Unidas, participate in Act on a Dream’s Advocacy Committee, and am a member of Mariachi Veritas. I’m also a mentor for BRYE Teen, a service organization working with immigrant youth in Boston. During my free time, I love hanging out with my friends, exploring Boston, and going to various events on campus. I’m super excited to be working with the UMRP and can’t wait to hear from you!
