star rating instead of votes

Has anyone used a star based rating system for questions instead of votes ?

I'm also interested in this. It Would be awesome if someone could create plugin for adding q2a question rating to the google search results (rich snippets) via microdata.

youtube did not abandon the star ratings without a reason :)

Sure, a plugin would do it. You just need an extra table with question id and rating field (holds 1-5).

Then for output you would override the appropriate qa-voting function.

It was in my list long back and I am curretnly developing star ratings pluign.. I hope would be able to finish by end of this week if won't get stuck in other priority works.. else next week..

This is currently development version screenshot and not styled and aligned, eventually it will palced below vote box with smaller stars, or may be have few options for size..

First version of the plugin will only allow to do star ratings and stars will be added below to vote box in Question page only

Next versionwill add widget and some other queries based on ratings..

What plugin won't do at least for first version

• It won't sortlist question based on star ratings
• It won't allow to display rating widget anywhere

Plugin is almost done.. just tell me guyz what you prefer allow by IP or user id? but if by user id than only logged in user will be able to rate..
