This question has been edited. The objective is that the user can unsubscribe at any time he wants to be no longer in database. I know that as an administrator one can eliminate. the function would be as much as possible that this function is enabled in delete user when the normal user wishes to be deleted

The posted link refers to different scenario than the one of the title of the question. You are asking if it is possible for a user to delete their own account. The link you posted is asking to see if there is a way for the admin to create a wall post in a user profile that can not be deleted by the user who owns the wall.

1. What is the right one?
2. In case it is the one of your title, is this related to GDPR?
by
what a clueless I am. it's just the.title of my question,I'm going to edit. Yes GDPR IS there, but beyond that, I think that the user's will is to leave whenever he likes.

As a user I'd feel disrespected if I had to email someone to delete my account in any online service. This option is necessary.

I have written such a plugin. But it's not public and not open source.
by
I am thinking GDPR compliance...
But how would a deleted account affect old user posts? Oh dear!
by
All user-related posts get anonymized. All votes and flags are removed. And much more...
by
In one word, awesome!
I guess @usernameMentions are outside the scope
by
Interesting point. Yes, this is not considered yet. But well, we could go over all posts and remove "@usernameMention".
by
Could you provide a link to that plugin?
by
From above: "it's not public and not open source."
by
Why did you bother mentioning it exists? Are you selling it?

The question was "is there ...?" which suggests the act of existence ... and he answered in the affirmative that such a plugin does in deed exist.
