You could add this yourself using highlight.js - http://softwaremaniacs.org/soft/highlight/en/
Just add the script to your page via your theme.

Alternatively, the Markdown editor includes this same script: https://github.com/svivian/q2a-markdown-editor

I tried using the markdown-editor, but its not working. This is what is did

Placed markdown-editor folder to the qa-plugins folder in Q2A installation.
Logged in  as a Super Administrator and headed to Admin > Posting.
Made the default editor for questions and answers to 'Markdown Editor'.
Lastly, selected the Highlight Syntax from plugin options.

Then tried to answer a question, but it failed to highlight the Syntax. here is the link

Any help would be highly appreciated.

There is no code on that page at all...

Sorry for the link and delayed reply. The link now has the code and it starts with
and all my old Q&A post starts with this format. Is it correct or what am i missing?

You need to indent the code so that it becomes code in Markdown. The { } button on the editor will do that for you. Also I'm not sure if the
part is required, I think it detects syntax automatically.

Thanks for that {} button info, but it just indents the code, but I want to highlight it in SQL format. Earlier with the quanda plugin, I used embed SQL like
select * from tmp
.
